I’m starting off 2019 in Fuerteventura. This island is one of my favourite places – full of magical volcanic energy. Today has been the first day that I’ve felt clear of the distraction of my hummingbird mind and been able to create something beautiful.
So my 2019 gift for you is three poems. Recently I’ve been touched by surrendering to love and how we often meet the great loves of our lives in multiple lifetimes. Maybe they come in different guises – as friends, sons etc but they often turn up. It’s a magical thing how we find each other.
Yet again we’ve stumbled our way
into a new verse
Of this age old song.
A song that was written in the stars.
We kept time with the beat
Of our own hearts –
Unaware that it was orchestrated
by love all along.
The Great Sleep
She casts one last glance
and bare shouldered turn;
the skies drop lower
and the mountains burn.
Scattered emeralds, floors of gold,
bronzen beads and rubies red –
Summer readies herself for sleep,
drops her jewels and slips into bed.
Dissolve into love again;
let your thoughts break down
Collapse into yourself again
become the note
that precedes the verse.
